To celebrate the delivery and commissioning of the Humaitá, second Brazilian Scorpene for the Brazilian Navy, entirely built in Brazil by Itaguaí Construções Navais (ICN), thanks to a Transfer of Technology with Naval Group and its partners.
With this major milestone, we also celebrate our cooperation with ICN, the joint-venture between Naval Group and Novonor, and our long-term collaboration with Brazilian Navy. I would like to express my special thanks to all the teams and partners involved, for their commitment and for once again demonstrating their excellence.
The success of the ProSub program is collective and aimed at strengthening the Brazilian Navy and Brazilian industry as well as reinforcing the country’s regional and global influence. Through this program, Naval Group is proud to contribute to the development of a robust and sustainable Brazilian industrial ecosystem, based on a fruitful transfer of technology to manufacture and assemble entirely in Brazil its Scorpene submarines.
The remaining two submarine of the series, Tonelero and Angostura will respectively be launched in 2024 and 2025.
